Book One, The Floating Boy

Cloud Morgan floated from his fevered body, hovering near his bedroom ceiling, but the elusive Old One telepathically sent him back, promising to teach the boy to leave his body at will.

Growing up in post-World War II Phoenix, Cloud enjoyed exploring out-of-body, but nightmares of impending tragic events caused him grief. Attending a nudist church eased his mind for a time. Then in college, he saw an enchanting dancer from the East in a dream so vivid he felt compelled to search for her.

Two beautiful women with psychic gifts matched the image in Cloud’s dream: the reluctant seer Xuan in Saigon, and in New Jersey, Terp, the brilliant scholar who could heal others yet not herself. Both women saw Cloud in visions. Both held the profound power to shape his life. But which one was the enchanting dancer from the East?

The Floating Boy kicks off the seven-book Heretics in Occupied Eden series.

Book Seven, Emma Round and the Holy Rowlings

Emma Round became smitten with the Boy Who Lived when she was nine, at the same time discovering a guiding vision in Hermione Granger. By high school, she had become a prize-winning Harry Potter geek. For a comparative religions assignment in college, Emma designed a church that used J. K. Rowling’s novels as its Bible, and friends urged her to turn that school project into a real congregation. However intriguing the idea on paper, Emma knew bringing the Holy Rowlings to life would be complicated. But motivated by a traumatic experience in her teens and with the wit and courage of her role model Hermione, Emma took up the challenge of transforming from Potter geek into Hallowed Philosopher.

Emma Round and the Holy Rowlings features some overlapping characters from The Floating Boy but can be enjoyed without having read the other books. Of course, we’d love you to check them out, too.
